Air Pressure

Air Pressure

What is it?

Air pressure is the
weight of the air in the atmosphere pressing down on every part of your body and everything around you. The air pressure at the surface of the Earth averages about 14.7 pounds (6.67 kg) per square inch. An instrument called a barometer is used to measure air pressure.

Give me an example!

Did you know that you can use air pressure to predict a storm? If the air pressure measures very low on the barometer, it means a storm is coming.
