What is it?
Gage pressure is the pressure of something as measured from atmospheric pressure.
Give me an example!
Atmospheric pressure is approximately 14.7 pounds/square inch. To find the Gage pressure of a balloon inflated to a pressure of 50 psi, simply subtract the atmospheric pressure (14.7) from the absolute pressure (50). Your answer will be 35.3 psi gage. Most devices that measure pressure in fact measure gage pressure.
