Newton- Law of Gravity
What is it?
Newton's Law of Gravity states that every two particles in the universe attract each other. This force is directly proportional to the product of their masses. This force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two particles.
Give me an example!
Have you ever noticed that it is more difficult to pick up a large book like a dictionary than a small book or magazine? That's because gravity (or attraction of the earth) acts with greater force on the book with the greater mass.
Have you ever seen astronauts floating in space? They float because they are far from the earth, so the pull of gravity is much less on their bodies there than it would be standing on the earth's surface.
