State

State

What is it?

The state of a
substance refers to which of the three phases of matter the substance exists in: Solid, liquid, or gas.

Give me an example!

Water exists in all three states (or phases of matter) in our world every day. Water in the solid state can be found in the freezer as ice cubes. Water in the liquid state comes out of the faucet. And water in the gas state is steam, which comes out of a clothes iron or the tea kettle.
